Airports

There are four airports to choose from; Derry(LDY), Belfast City(BHD), Belfast International(BFS) and Dublin(DUB). Londonderry tends to be pricier compared to Belfast and Dublin but less travel required. We recommend flying into either Belfast airport and taking the direct train (~2hrs) or renting a car (~1hr). Belfast City (BHD) is closest to the main train station and if you're connecting through London Heathrow then you'll likely fly into this airport. However if you fly into Belfast International, there are charter busses to take you straight to Derry or to a nearby train station. The third, cheapest, yet farthest airport is Dublin. Dublin to Derry via car (~3hrs) or via X4 Bus Line (Direct: 3hrs 45min~). **Note the bus is a large coach bus

Renting a Car

If considering renting a car, you can get an international drivers permit for $20 at any AAA office in the states. Remember that they drive on the other side of the road in Ireland and Northern Ireland which may be overwhelming for some and an adventure for others :) When reserving a rental car please specify automatic or manual transmission because if you do not they will likely book you manual!
